OUR MISSION

We are driven by our passion for musical theatre and live entertainment and we are excited to share this wonderful opportunity with you. We are strong believers in the idea of broadening the audience for musical theatre and in this endeavor, we are creating unprecedented opportunities for undiscovered lyricists, composers and playwrights ("creative teams") with new musicals. Opening Night America introduces the teams, shares their musicals, their journeys and allows the audience to witness the creative process.

 

WE BEGIN WITH FOUR NEW MUSICALS

Our project consists of two phases. We begin with the Opening Night America television series where we will follow four  extremely talented creative teams with diverse backgrounds as they share key highlights of their four new musicals with the world. These musicals feature strong musical scores set against backdrops that are timely, relevant and diverse.   Immediately following the TV series, we enter the second phase of our project where each musical will be produced in their entirety and performed live on stage in regional theatres across the USA.

 

WE CREATE MUCH NEEDED JOB OPPORTUNITIES

We are creating much-needed job opportunities in musical theatre for both the TV series and the four regional stage productions. TV audiences will see elements of the audition process of talented singers, actors and dancers who will be cast in each musical. In these challenging times, Opening Night America is an exciting new force imagined and created to provide new opportunities for unemployed creatives, artists, singers, dancers and musicians, along with all of the supporting technical and production staff necessary, to ensure the each musical is set up for success.

 

OUR PROJECT KICKS OFF WITH A TELEVISION SERIES

Our project begins with a 13-episode television series. Viewers will get to see the challenges each creative team faces and learn more about the creative process and what it takes to create successful new musicals, such as the wildly popular Hamilton, Wicked and Dear Evan Hanson. Millions will watch each week as the teams workshop key elements of their musicals under the guidance and mentorship of a panel of musical theatre royalty. The panel will include a Producer, Director, Composer and Celebrity Talent.  

 

In Opening Night America, everyone wins, because while the last episode will feature the results of audience voting, and a favorite new musical will be chosen, immediately following the TV series, viewers will be able to see ALL FOUR MUSICALS live on stage at top regional theatres in the USA.

FOLLOWING THE TV SERIES THE LIVE STAGE PRODUCTIONS BEGIN

Through the mass marketing and promotion of these four fascinating new musicals, the TV audiences will be excited to see each these projects in their entirety live and in person, when they premiere within weeks of the final episode of the television series in high profile regional theatres across the country.  During the airing of the television series the names of the theatres will be revealed and tickets for each of the four musicals will be made available for advance purchase.
